The Diamond

I slept well this night, so all remembering of dreams had to be done while partially asleep. Not an easy task, especially where there were a whole slew of them. Everything, therefore, is a bit fragmented.

Begin:   There was a fragment from some dream showing the development of a chrysalis from the worm on a leaf. There was another where I came upon a computer monitor with the figures on the screen a pinkish orange instead of the amber I am familiar with. Close examination showed it to be a color monitor set to imitate an amber phosphor monochrome monitor. I mentioned these details to my (in the dream) woman companion.
End.

Begin:   A large and very valuable diamond had been stolen. I and a woman companion were looking for it. In one scene we had found a room containing a work area with many small devices and other trappings suggesting jewelry or some similar work. She opened a shallow box containing many tiny compartments, about 1 inch square, lined with cotton. With a pair of tweezers she carefully probed each compartment and examined the contents. One tiny container we were very interested in. Upon being opened with the tweezers it proved to contain a small stack of tiny glass discs of various thicknesses. We wanted to look into them in more detail later.

Scene Change:   A tall slender man in a Mafiosi style pin stripe suit had encountered us. Making some comment about solving a problem, he pulled out a small handgun, but I grabbed his wrist and kept him from aiming it. In the struggle we fell to the floor and I held his wrist pointing up. He emptied the gun by firing it every time he got it pointed nearly at me. It did not go off with a bang, but with a loud pfffft sound, apparently having a built in silencer. Once it was empty, he still had one more trick. It fired one squirt of some fluid which was supposed to be aimed into the target's face to incapacitate him. I avoided this as well.
Fade.

New Sequence:   This dream sequence involved several other people in a library. We discussed whether some information should be directed to the east coast or the west coast. West was decided on.
End.

After a long period of trying to set the above stuff so it would be remembered upon fully wakening, there were more dreams. One involved a large piece of government surplus electronic gear which I had fixed to use to test other equipment, a sound system I think. It was old fashioned in construction, using vacuum tubes, but the circuitry was built on epoxy glass circuit boards. It folded open for easy access to the internals and looked rather strange that way.
End.
