The Frog and the Dwarves

Only the last scene of this dream is remembered, although it leaves the impression of having been fairly long. This was not the last dream before waking, there having been one other.

All the colors were very bright, everything was clean, neat, and crisp. Altogether a delightful dream and one of my favorites.

Begin:   A well surfaced dirt road passed in front of a tiny brightly painted cottage with a front door opening very close to the road. A low white picket fence surrounded the narrow front yard, and a little walk went from the open gate to the front door. Standing upright on the road before the cottage was a large green frog, about 2-1/2 feet high.

A pair of Dwarves, about 3 feet high, dressed in brown, arrived towing a red wagon. They captured the frog, who looked distressed, wrapped him in a blanket, put him in the wagon, and headed off down the road toward a hill. As they went, they sang a little song about how the frog would now live under the Dwarf Hill.

Right after their departure, a bearded king, about 4-1/2 feet high, arrived at the cottage, dressed in his kingly robes and wearing a simple gold crown. He looked for the frog and seemed disturbed it was not there. Meanwhile, down the road, the Dwarves turned right onto a narrower road that climbed steeply to the top of a hill. They moved slowly now, one pulling and the other pushing.

About this time, a party of thee persons was coming down the main road the other way, headed toward the cottage. There was a girl of about 13 in the lead, followed by a shapely and attractive young woman of about the same height, and a large white rabbit dressed in a jacket and hat. The girl wore a moderately long dress of country style with an apron, and had light colored hair in medium length braids. The young woman was dressed in noting at all except a short cape. Her hair was brown, long and curly. Her body was entirely olive green with a streaky pattern, most prominent on her face.

The girl turned left up the hill with the others of her party following. The young woman suggested resting for a while, but the girl wanted to go a bit farther and rest at the top of the hill. She passed the dwarves and their wagon, the dwarves expressing displeasure at her intrusion. She looked back to the rest of her party, still just behind the dwarves, and noticed a foot of the frog peeking from under the blanket. Thus the plans of the dwarves were thwarted.

End.
