Jenny and Fay - 02-25-2025I was almost awake at some time Tuesday morning, but not much and was back to sleep quickly. When I next became partially awake I saw it was starting to get light. As so often happens after first light, I fell deeply asleep and did not really wake up until about 10 am. I got up at 10:10 I have many dreams during this time of heavy sleep after the break of dawn, most of which fade so quickly I can't write them up. Earlier parts of this dream I have only a vague impression of. My first remembered scene was in a bar, talking to two girls on my left. We were all somewhere between 25 and 30. Then I felt a grip on my right elbow. I turned to see a dark haired girl dressed in dark colors sitting there. She said, "How about giving me some attention?" This put me in an awkward situation, having to cut out the other girls to talk to her, but I saw no polite way out. I asked her her name. She said, "Jenny". I asked her where she was from. She said, "New Jersey". I told her I was also from elsewhere, that this was a dream world and I was from the waking world. I told her I would soon return there and added, "Unfortunately, I can't take you with me". Still holding my elbow she said, "Try me." I took her up on that and became mostly awake. No Jenny. Then I lay there for awhile, almost awake and the name of another girl appeared out of nowhere: Fay. Then her last name appeared, Fay Dennis, and that she attended the Catholic church in Bloomsbury New Jersey. That church was just a low building, not many Catholics there. Her name had not come up for me for at least 50 years. She was the girl I was sweet on in my last year or so in Bloomsbury New Jersey, what would have been first year Junior High (Middle School now) here in California. Perhaps, had my parents not broken up, I would have eventually married her and settled down to a normal life, perhaps a professor of literature, or who can know. It was nice thinking of her again. |
