Home of the Artist - 09-27-2024Begin: This dream opens with me in a large office type building discussing some matter with a few other men. We seemed to come to an agreement as to how to proceed. I left the building and went to find my car. As usual, the car was not to be found. I walked all the way around this building on the sidewalks, but saw only a few cars parallel parked in one area, and mine was not there. I was pretty sure I didn't park on the street, but I saw no other places to park. I think the car was either the Jaguar XK150 or the Jaguar 3.8 sedan, both of which were white. I walked up a side street which was on a moderate slope, street to my left, but found nothing. I headed down on the opposite sidewalk, and was approaching the main street when I stopped. To my right was a fairly long staircase up to a house, perhaps 20 steps. The wall at street level was was about 4 feet high and made of blocks. It curved in to where the staircase started. What first caught my eye was a large slab of crystalline stone, dark but very reflective from it's crystal surface. It was either thin or embedded in the curve of the wall, about 1 foot wide by 2 feet high. Then I noticed the artwork above the wall, mostly made of brightly painted bent tubing, but with a wheelless tricycle embedded in it, also brightly painted. While I was admiring this work or modern art, a woman came out of the house at the top of the stairs. She looked down and exclaimed, "Andrew! I haven't seen you for years! If you have time, come on up". I thought for a moment that maybe I could use a phone there to find information about my car, whether it had been towed or something, so I climbed the stairs and went into the house. The door did not face the staircase, but opened to the right with a level space in front of it. When I entered the house, there were quite a few people there. The hostess passed me off to a young lady, perhaps in her early 20s, while the hostess and I were both somewhat older. The young lady started taking me around introducing me, and that's where I left the dream. Interestingly, I reentered the dream twice for short periods. When I reentered the dream it was as if I was rejoining my dream self who had been active while I was gone. The first was inside the house, the second was outside, standing on the sidewalk which went around the house on the street side. I was looking at a pile of old tubing, which I presumed was to be used for more artwork like that below. End |
