Tchaikovsky vs Rimsky-Korsakov - 06-15-2023
In this dream I gave a fairly long talk to several people contrasting Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840 - 1893) with Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov (1844 - 1908). The dream talk was exactly** the same talk I've given serveral times in the waking world - though I haven't given that talk for quite a few years. The two composers have been likened to "two neighboring countries, both heavely armed and regarding each other with high suspicion, but not actually at war". When I get a chance I'll write the talk up and reference it from here. FYI, I'm in the Rimsky-Korsakov camp.
** Naturally, being unwritten, each telling varied in the order of points, but contained the same set of points.
