Huge Mansion & DestructionIn this dream I was apparently working within an architectual team. We were designing an absolutely huge mansion complex for someone who was obviously absurdly wealthy. My specialty here was bathrooms. The mansion was in a remote location, at the top of a fairly high hill. The layout was a huge and elaborate central building. Angling out from the back corners of the building were two rows of luxury apartments, all within single long buildings, one story high. There were 4 or 6 apartments in each building. On the left side (while facing the front) was a narrow building housing tiny apartments for Servant's Quarters, attached to the main building by a passage way. To the right, detached from the building and about 20 feet from it was another narrow building, about 40 feet long, called the "Slave Quarters". This was housing for laborers and was minimal with a single bathroom serving all. I pondered various bathroom configurations for the luxury apartments, including a bathroom between every two apartments serving both. These would have a small red light on each side that went on if the bathroom was occupied. Inside was a small red lock button, which when pressed locked the doors. To get out, a person had to press a small green button which would unlock the doors. There would also have to be some kind of lock on the outside of the door to prevent passing through into the adjacent apartment, but I don't remember the details of this. I decided not to use this scheme, and gave each apartment it's own full bathroom. I did apply this shared scheme for the Servant Quarters. Each apartment also included a very small kitchen, while the Servant Quarters had a minimal food preparation area. Presumably the Slave Quarters had a common dining area, with food provided by the main kitchens. Scene Change: The mansion was now nearly complete. It had a full basement for supplies and machinery. I was aware that large white bags of high explosives were being smuggled into the basement, one of which contained a cell phone that would set off the explosives if it's number was dialed from some outside location. Scene Change: The mansion was occupied, and a huge party was under way, crowded with the very wealthy, diplomats, celebrities, legislators, and other high status people. Scene Change: I did not witness the explosion, but did
see the aftermath. The entire compound was totally destroyed except most of
the Servant's Quarters and the entire Slave Quarters. There had been fires,
and the fire trucks had a hard time getting there because of the remoteness,
and the hill, so they had done little good. Fatalities must have been
very high.
