In the Basement

Fairly late in the morning, probably just as the dawn began to light up. This dream opens on a staircase in a medical building. I am half way down the flight, below which is a square landing with a few more steps going down to the left into a small lobby. Across the lobby from the stairs is the entrance, glass doors.

I am headed down the stairs with a doctor to my right, He is wearing a white medical coat. I am telling him we must investigate the basement. This upsets him and he stumbles. He tries to regain his balance while almost tumbling down the stairs. He turns to the left down the last few stairs, still staggering. Just as he reaches the lobby floor, he collides with another doctor who has just entered the lobby, knocking him to the floor. This doctor is wearing a brown suit with no white coat. Both doctors are now on the floor.

I continued down to the lobby, and as the two doctors get back up, I insist we must investigate the basement. They reluctantly agree.

Under the stairs I have come down is a wooden door, at the opposite corner from the glass entry door. We open the door and start down a flight of steps, myself in the lead and the brown doctor last. The basement is lighted, all painted white, and empty, except for a piece of equipment, about 24 x 24 inches and 4 feet tall, also white, but with a large round dark eye-like feature at the sloped top.

There is nothing else there. I am about 2/3 the way down the stairs, the brown doctor near the top and the white doctor in between. I figure we can go back up. Nothing there - except the thought of ghosts of screams from persons who had been tortured down there.

Fast fade out.

In the Basement - 05-19-2019

I went to bed around 9:30pm - and quickly started falling asleep. Instantly, I returned to the exact scene where the dream of the previous morning was left.

Now the doctors and I turned and started back up, but the door had closed, and the brown doctor couldn't force it open.

I turned back toward the basement. As it turned out, I had anticipated trouble and had come with a handgun in my pocket. I pulled it out and started shooting at the device. There were sparks and flashes, and some of the lights went out, but as the power failed, the door was released and we could escape.

In the lobby, we decided that door had to be destroyed. We found a fire ax and had at it. We found the wood was just a thin layer on the outside. In the center was a thin layer of steel, with yellow sound deadening foam on both sides. It bent under our blows but it would take more than the fire ax to destroy the door.
