Leos Janacek (1854-1928) was one of the great composers of the early 20th century. He was an ardent folk music researcher, and Czech folk themes permeate his serious works. After many years of small town success and big town frustration, he finally hit the big time at the age of 62, when his opera Jenufa was performed in Prague. He had serious girl problems, which caused serious wife problems.
