Andrew Grygus - Dreams

Index

Introduction

These pages are recorded for my own reference and reading enjoyment, but are open to anyone who wants to read them. They may be quite entertaining for aspiring dream interpreters. Each of these dreams has had some influence on my life, but a few have had a very strong influence.

By far the majority of my dreams are not recorded here, only those I have been able to remember well enough to write down when awake. All presented here is as accurate as possible. Questionable and unclear bits have been omitted or described as such in the text.

The format (something ?) means it was very like something, but not necessarily the actual thing it is so similar to.

My impression is that most of the dreams of my early life were composed of images from daily experience, assembled in the usual scrambled and shifting manner of dreams, but I cannot be sure that is the case. Unfortunately, I can call forth only a couple of vague images from my first 30 years, with the exception of Korean War from 1952 and Short Wave Radio from 1959.

Serious recording of dreams began in 1974. There is a blank space between 1984 and 2018 due to the demands of starting and running a complex business in Technology Consulting. There could be a very few, but I have found none to date. If there are any at all, they would exist on obsolete backup media which may not be recoverable today.

Those predating 1982 were probably hand written on accountants worksheets, because that's what I wrote personal stuff on - paper that would remain pristine for many decades. These were transcribed to computer files in 1982, printed on a daisy wheel printer, and filed in a binder. That is fortunate, because those computer files are long gone. For this reason, all dreams will be committed to paper, and uploaded to my Web site.

In waking life today, I constantly come up with impressions, images, statements, and opinions that, thinking about them, I realize come from recent dreams, even dreams that I barely remember anything of.

I have come to question that some of the people I meet in dreams are simply constructions of my mind that dissolve to nothing when I wake up. I hope that in some way they are as real as I am, because many I meet in dreams are a lot nicer or more interesting than those I meet in waking life. Of some, I have the distinct impression they represent a person I know from waking life, but they never have the appearance of that person, nor the same environment. One dream was as close to a Goddess experience as I have had.
