Bird Snake

Pages 1 and 2 from this set are missing and unrecoverable, so the 03-08-1983 dream opens in the middle, and 03-07-1983 is missing entirely.

------------------------

. . . A sea bird flew in and landed. I thought it had injured itself when it landed, and decided to try to catch it. I pursued it, but it could still fly a bit and took to the air for 15 feet or so. I was afraid it would manage to get over the fence into the schoolyard and moved to head it off. I maneuvered it into the middle of the intersection and jumped it. It made some resistance, but not too much. I feared it might go into shock, as wild birds often do if caught, unable to comprehend not being eaten. This bird was not a gull, but was more like a long necked very long narrow duck. I will have to look at some pictures to identify if there is such a real bird.

I was indoors. The bird had become a short, round nosed snake and was being held by another person who was with me. It was very despondent and seemingly near death. I took it and decided to take it to water to see if I could get it to revive. Going outside, I went to a small pond at the edge of a patio. It was edged in concrete like a pool, but was full of lily pads and such. I released the snake in the water and it wriggled away, turning immediately back into the bird. The bird did not fly away, but was very friendly and I could catch it and pet it. This portion had considerable emotional content, but it is a trifle vague now.
End.
