Medical Testing Lab

Background:   In years now fairly well behind me, I had done computer and network support for a number of medical testing labs, but none on the scale and complexity of the one in this dream. The dream was very long and quite vivid.

Begin:   The first scene remembered in this dream was set in a new medical testing lab. In this dream I am an observer, not one of the active participants.

The company's inspector was looking at a new testing machine. It was quite large, about 5 feet long, 3 feet wide, 4 feet high, and very complex - similar to some of the machines of the clients I formerly did work for.

The inspector was talking to a technician and telling him that he was going to "red tag" the machine, because the proper testing procedures had not been completed.

The technician protested that the machine was fine and could be put to work. The inspector told him that if the State of California inspectors came and saw this deficiency there would be trouble. The proper procedures had to be completed and documented before the machine could be used.

Scene Change   The lab was now further in its development and I examined the state of progress. It had filtered air supply, fan driven to assure inside pressure was higher than outside pressure. Hoods with filtered exhaust had been installed over some work benches. These benches had partition walls separating them from nearby space. There was now a "clean room" entrance room where hung protective clothing.

Scene Change   The lab was now in full operation. People working there were wearing full length plastic coats, plastic hair covers, foot covers, masks, and gloves. At one of the hooded benches a woman was having a crisis. She was saying "I can't work like this, I can't work like this". Two other persons were with her trying to help.
