Escape from Cannibals

The date of this dream is not exact, because I'd not yet restarted recording dreams. It was well rehearsed to set it in memory, so the details are accurate.

Myself and a woman I shall presume was my wife, had been invited to dinner in a strange town.

We parked the car out in front of their house. It was a large late 40s early 50s "aerodynamic" styled sedan. All the costuming and hair styles in the dream were also from this era.

While we were in the house, the husband needed to go outside for something, and left the front door unlocked.

I was talking to the wife and asked her about dinner. I had noticed odd things about the house, and her reply was also very odd. I suddenly realized, it was we who were to be the dinner.

I grabbed my wife's purse, and my wife, and we ran out the front door to the car. We got through the gate and got into the car. Unusual for my dreams, the car started right up. We headed into town.

In the next remembered scene, we were talking to the local police chief, and asked him if it was common for people to disappear in this town. He told us, "No, not at all".

Something about his demeanor suggested he was in on the disappearing deal, so we left quickly and got back in the car. We knew we needed to go up much higher in the law enforcement chain with this.

On the road, we may have been persued by a police car. This is something that came to me while rehearsing the dream into memory,so I can't call it part of the dream.

In any case, we got away, because the last remembered fragment had us parked in front of an imposing government building, state capitol or of similar status.
